• Maelir Gryg ap Gruffudd ab Iorwerth ab Owain ap Rhodri ap Gwaeddan ap Grochwel ab Aeddan of llwyn Melyn as born say 1170. ^[1]

Marriage

He married Jane ferch Robert ap Caradog ap llywarch. ^[1]

Jane was the daughter of Robert ap Robert ap Llywarch ap Trahaearn, who was born about 1130. Boyer repeats Bartrum's note that Bartrum added this generation because there were two persons named Owain ap Maredudd ap Robert who died in 1236 and 1261 respectively. There is a Roberft ap Robert who appears in one manuscript "perhaps accidentally." ^[2]

Location

Llwyn Nelyn is near Gregynog, about nine miles west of Montgomery. ^[1]
